Terms of Service

Last updated: April 21, 2026

The short version

Vovea isn't live yet. Today, the only thing you can do on vovea.com is join a waitlist to be notified when we launch. You give us a first name, an email, and the language you want to learn. These terms cover that waitlist and nothing else.

You have to be 13 or older to sign up. You can leave at any time. When we launch the actual product, we'll replace these terms with proper product terms and email you first.

1. What Vovea is today

Vovea LLC ("Vovea," "we," "us") is a Michigan limited liability company building a conversation-based language-learning app. The product is not available yet.

The only service we currently offer is a waitlist at vovea.com, where you can submit your name, email address, and language of interest to be notified when Vovea launches. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of that waitlist.

When Vovea launches as a live product, we'll publish new terms that cover the product. Those terms will replace these ones. We'll email everyone on the waitlist before the switch, with time to review and opt out.

2. Who can use the waitlist

You must be at least 13 years old to join the Vovea waitlist. When you sign up, you confirm your age by checking the "I'm 13 or older" box. If you can't honestly check that box, don't sign up.

If you're under 18, you're representing that your parent or guardian is aware you're joining a waitlist and that the email address you've provided belongs to you or is one you're authorized to use.

3. What you agree to

By submitting the waitlist form, you agree to:

  • Give us a first name, an email address you actually own or are authorized to use, and a language you're interested in learning.
  • Check the age-attestation box honestly.
  • Receive a welcome email, occasional progress updates (unsubscribable), and a launch notification.
  • Our Privacy Policy, which describes what we do with the information you provide.

4. What you can't do

Don't:

  • Submit somebody else's name or email address without their knowledge and permission.
  • Submit fake or misleading information, including a false name, a false age attestation, or a language you aren't actually interested in.
  • Try to overwhelm, scrape, or probe the waitlist or the site for vulnerabilities. (If you've found a real security issue, email hello@vovea.com — we'd rather hear about it than have it exploited.)
  • Use the site to send spam, malware, or any unlawful content.
  • Impersonate Vovea, its employees, or anyone else.

If you violate these rules, we may remove your record from the waitlist without notice.

5. Our commitments

We commit to:

  • Email you when Vovea launches.
  • Honor unsubscribe requests within 10 days, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act.
  • Not sell or rent your name, email, or any other data you've given us.
  • Not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or third parties for marketing.
  • Follow our Privacy Policy.

6. No fees

The waitlist is free. There is nothing to pay for. We don't take payment information of any kind, and there are no accounts, subscriptions, or billing on vovea.com today. If you ever see a page asking you to pay for something on vovea.com before the product has launched, it isn't us — please email hello@vovea.com.

7. No guarantees about the product

Vovea is under active development. We can't guarantee:

  • A specific launch date.
  • That the final product will match descriptions, mockups, or previews shown on the marketing site.
  • That features, pricing, or terms described on the pre-launch site will be identical to those in the launched product.
  • That everyone on the waitlist will receive early access.

We're a small project trying to do this honestly. Some things will change between now and launch. Being on the waitlist doesn't entitle you to any specific outcome, but we'll make good-faith efforts to keep our word about the essentials.

8. Intellectual property

The Vovea name, logo, "Vovi" character, site design, copy, and other content on vovea.com are owned by Vovea LLC. You're welcome to view the site and share links to it. Don't copy our content wholesale, rebrand it, or pass it off as your own.

9. Leaving the waitlist

You can leave the waitlist any time:

  • Click the unsubscribe link in any email we send you.
  • Email hello@vovea.com and ask to be removed.

We'll remove your record within 10 days of an unsubscribe request and within 30 days of a deletion request. Once you're off the list, we won't email you again (except, where legally required, a single confirmation of the deletion).

10. Disclaimers

The vovea.com waitlist and website are provided "as is" and "as available." We do our best to keep the site running, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure against every possible attack. We don't guarantee that the site or any emails we send will be free of viruses or harmful components.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

Because the waitlist is a free, pre-product service, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the waitlist is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100).

We're not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, including lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunities, even if we were told such damages were possible.

Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, in which case the limitations apply to the maximum extent allowed by law.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the waitlist will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, and you agree to that venue.

13. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may change. When they do:

  • For minor changes (typo fixes, clarifications), we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top.
  • For material changes (anything that alters your rights or our commitments), we'll email everyone on the waitlist before the new terms take effect.
  • When Vovea launches as a live product, these waitlist terms will be replaced by full product terms, with advance notice.

14. If any part of these terms is unenforceable

If a court decides any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest of the Terms still apply.

15. Contact

Questions about these Terms, or anything else:

  • Email: hello@vovea.com
  • Company: Vovea LLC, a Michigan limited liability company

A physical mailing address for postal correspondence will be listed here once we've finalized it.

In plain English: these terms cover using the Vovea waitlist. You give us your first name, email, language of interest, and confirm you're 13+. We'll email you when we launch. You can leave any time. No fees, no accounts, no product yet. When the product ships, we'll write new terms for it and let you know.
